COVAM, located in the General Head Quarter of Cartagena, is the centre of FAM, which aggregates and analyzes all information concerning to maritime areas of interest to get to know and understand at every moment what is happening in these areas. This is called Maritime Situational Awareness (MSA – CEM), the result of this fusion and analysis is a real-time presentation or not of what is happening in the sea, called ‘Recognized Maritime Picture’ (RMP), that is provided in various forms to the Navy and the Civilian agencies with responsibilities in the sea that request it.
